Our journey is to create, within our workshop, New Zealand’s most celebrated craft spirits. Quality food and beverages are always best enjoyed when there’s a story behind what you’re eating and drinking. We wondered what would it take to deliver our taste of New Zealand to the spirits world? Yoyo, the original 50 litre pot still was our initial step and for the first three years it produced the first four Curiosity Gins in the range. Yoyo is still in action and in 2019 we acquired a 500 litre still which currently produces all our gin and whisky.Antony is our Chief Gin Officer, Master Distiller and Managing Director. Stepping out of the corporate world after more than 20 years, he was able to combine his skills in chemistry, engineering and strategy to lead The Spirits Workshop on its journey.Source: Curiosity Gin | Curiosity Gin Recipe 23First released for Negroni Week 2017, Negroni Special is distilled from a malted barley base spirit with additional juniper, spice and orange citrus, then barrel rested in new French oak barrels and bottled at high strength. The list of botanicals includes citrus peels, herbs, and spices. Starlino Arancione Aperitivo is made with Italian Orange peel, lemon peel and other herbs and spices. | Considered one of Canadian Clubs premium offerings, this whiskey is one that can be enjoyed on its own, or in your favourite mixes. Aged 12 years in American white oak it shows their trademark smoothness and a long, dry finish. With the long ageing process the whiskey has developed dark tones and the traditional characteristics of aged whiskies being rich and strong aromatics. | Starlino is a delicious and complex range of Italian Aperitivos from Torino in Italy, the birthplace of Italian Aperitivos. Starlino’s recipe was made by Denis Muni and Beppe Ronco – both have worked at Torino Distillati for over 20 years and are natives of the Piedmont Region. Having spent their careers making Vermouths and Aperitivos, they focused their attention on real innovation for The Hotel Starlino™ Range. They came up with the idea of ageing the Rosso Vermouth in Bourbon barrels after observing that the cask ageing imported a deliciously smooth, spicy flavor to the wine. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
